Men's prostate health...more you can do than you think

 Men's Prostate Health

More you can do than you think

You can call me RonOld. I'm 76, going on elderly. Way back when I was 63 years old I had hemorrhoids—bad ones, bleeding, itching, hard little seeds that hurt. I only bring this up to introduce you to just how intimate and personal we can be...we elderly men who have seen it all, lived it in various ways. This is a coffee shop discussion group, if you want to know.

We can talk about social issues that affect us or that we participate in. Politics? Sure. I guess. But I do think that what all of us old men have in common are health issues, or we're in great shape, or we're working on that. So I threw out hemorrhoids just to let you know that little is off the table as we relate with each other. I think old men do this in small towns and places all over the world...right?

So in this first post, I want to talk about prostate health and prostate issues, like beginning to have difficulty peeing a solid stream or emptying very well. The swollen prostate. How to shrink it?

Little is discussed about this issue in a real way in the medical field. We're old men. They're not there yet, and if they are they're not talking.

Well I have swollen issues and I don't have sex with anyone these days. I don't mind that at all, but there is this thing about the need to ejaculate and clean out the prostate of backed up semen. So in the interest of actually addressing it, here's a poster you can download or share. A reminder that you're never too old to masturbate, and you definitely should...I definitely should.

This is what the people in the medical profession are telling men to do and to not be ashamed of it.

  • Masturbate and do it regularly.
  • Use a device to massage the prostate.
Or you know a little of both, with a partner if you have one.

Discussion...anyone?
